About
As a queer, nonbinary therapist, I am passionate about creating healing spaces for queer folks to show up as their full, authentic selves.

Reen Smith (they/them)
When faced with marginalization, it’s easy to internalize negative narratives and messaging about who we are. We can become conditioned to places of pain and stuckness which limit our capacity to experience joy and pleasure. I see therapy as a tool to help alleviate some of those pressure points in order to free up space for empowered and interconnected living.
I enjoy working with people who relate to living outside of dominant paradigms and who like to engage in dynamic, imaginative work. This may include folks within the LGBTQAIP community, those who navigate non-monogamy, kinky and/or erotically diverse individuals, as well as those who are neurodivergent. I am informed by social justice models of therapy which include feminist, anti-racist, anti-ableist and sex positive theories and practices. Aligning with principles of systemic change, I believe that when we do our own internal work, we have tremendous power to transform our relationships and communities. I am both energized and inspired to do this work with you!
What you can expect
I believe the therapeutic relationship forms the foundation of therapy and value creating a safe, trusting, and judgement-free environment. I show up in sessions as my full self as I encourage you to do the same!
I believe that our bodies hold immense wisdom and utilize strategies to help unlock and utilize this wisdom for deeper understanding and integration. Being informed by modalities such as Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Somatic Psychotherapy and Relational Therapy, I see this work as a creative and collaborative process and love to find what works best for you and your system.
